Power Walking to a Personal Best: Meet Mac, Ageility's 2022 sponsored athlete
Hugh "Mac" McCaffrey is reaching his goals.
When he registered for the 2022 National Senior Games Power Walk events, Mac didn’t have a clear goal in mind. Although he was active walking his neighborhood and teaching tai chi, he didn’t consider himself an athlete. But he started training with an Ageility trainer, building strength and endurance. After a car accident, he added Ageility rehab services.
Mac’s first timed 1500m walk was over 16 minutes. He set a goal to get under 14 minutes. At the May 2022 Games, he finished in 13 minutes, 30 seconds! He achieved his goal. To all of you reading this: Don’t ever stop reaching, trying, or achieving, whatever that may look like for you. Never stop advancing.
Mac wasn't alone on his journey.
Mac worked hard to reach his goal. But he also credits Ageility team members for their “professionalism, support, encouragement, and talent” throughout his training. Mac says: “I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, learned so much, am in better shape, and consider myself fortunate to have participated.”
