Since 2001, we have evolved an approach that today uniquely combines excellent care in state-of-the-art clinics with the hospitality of onsite services, from physical, occupational and speech therapies to wellness and personal fitness training.

Each individual brings skills and talents honed over decades. Together, they form a collaborative team driven by Ageility’s mission to help older adults improve their quality of life and reach their potential.
Mr. Leer is Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of AlerisLife, for which he has also served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since 2019. Prior to joining AlerisLife, Mr. Leer served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Office Properties Income Trust and as Senior Vice President of The RMR Group LLC, where he has been responsible for the day to day oversight of the accounting and finance support functions of The RMR Group and its various affiliates. Prior to joining The RMR Group, Mr. Leer held various accounting and finance positions at several multi-national Fortune 500 companies as well as the public accounting firm, Vitale, Caturano PC (predecessor to RSM). Mr. Leer is also a certified public accountant.
Lauren Cody joined AlerisLife in 2022 in the role of Chief Customer Officer (CCO), overseeing the entire end to end customer experience. Previously, Lauren served for 25 years in executive leadership roles at Panera Bread and McDonald’s, where she was responsible for significant advancements in customer service and company performance. Her customer-based leadership role at AlerisLife and Five Star is informed by her passion for having a “positive impact on the quality of life of so many of our most valuable citizens.” Lauren grew up in Maryland and received her MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
Denise Kelly has 25 years of healthcare experience, including clinical work in rehabilitation hospitals, acute hospitals, private practices and home-health settings. She joined our Five Star division in 2001 and leads the operations and growth of Ageility, AlerisLife’s rehabilitation and wellness division comprising more than 250 outpatient and inpatient clinics. Before joining Five Star, Denise was Vice President of Rehabilitation for a nationwide skilled nursing company. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University and an MBA from Lesley University.
Michel Weaver arrived at Ageility in 2019 as Senior Director of Operations and was promoted to Vice President in 2021. Mr. Weaver brings to his role deep experience in strategic development, marketing and operations nationally within aging services and rehabilitation, including post-acute neuro-rehabilitation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Butler University.
Grace Davenport graduated from Stockton University in 1991 with a degree in physical therapy and has a primary background in orthopedics for over 25 years. Ms. Davenport began focusing on seniors in 2014 when she joined the Ageility team. She began working as a staff therapist with Ageility and after several promotions is now a Divisional Director of Rehabilitation for the Eastern Division. She is passionate about active adults and seniors. She continues to care for them personally, professionally and actively evaluate and treat them as a physical therapist.
Jennifer Vacek joined Ageility in 2004 as a Regional Rehab Director over the Midwest. Ms. Vacek has actively been a part of Ageility’s growth strategy and has fostered much positive change since coming on board. In 2004, she managed a small portfolio of approximately 17 departments in freestanding skilled nursing communities and grew to overseeing close to 100 sites as the Western Divisional Director. Through her professional and personal growth, Ms. Vacek prides herself on always working to be there for others and enjoys nothing more than to positively affect others on their journey of life.
Susan Parys joined the Ageility team in 2006 as a Rehab Director before now serving as a Divisional Director of Rehabilitation for the southeast division. She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1995 with her degree in physical therapy and began her professional career as a physical therapist/manager in an Inpatient Rehab and Acute Care Hospital. Ms. Parys is passionate about providing Ageility clients with a variety of senior-focused programs that help them live life to their fullest.
John joined the Ageility team in 2007 as an Area Rehabilitation Manager with subsequent promotions to Regional Rehabilitation Director and Eastern Divisional Director of Rehabilitation. Mr. Wheeler’s success in leading a division devoted to providing rehabilitation services to older adults combined with his passion for healthy aging led to a promotion in January of 2021 to Director of Fitness. Mr. Wheeler earned a Master of Science degree in physical therapy from Arcadia University in 1994. He lives in Raleigh, NC where he plays basketball to stay active and healthy.
